Is anyone else having trouble with using smart sound in PowerDirector 8? I thought you could use a portion of the sounds with out purchasing them, but everyone I try wans me to purchase befor using them.

Hi Jim,

It is a bit frustrating isn't it? It looks like you have tons of music, and then you really don't . The music Styles that are in BOLD PRINT are the only ones that you can change the time duration to fit your videos. The others are just SAMPLES that allow you to hear a particular STYLE and music VARIATION. But you can't drag them to the MUSIC TRACK, even in a short duration.

There are many websites that offer a wide variety of music for free. One that you might check out is www.freeplaymusic.com I use it all the time!! Lots of styles and can be dowloaded in various lengths.
